Hotel Schwarzer Adler Innsbruck

Fabulous hotel! Great location, friendly service and tons of historic charm, while still feeling renovated and luxurious. We didn't even know about the spa when we booked, but were delighted to find three (!!) saunas in the -1 level, open till 9pm. There's also a cozy bar in the lobby where you can grab a cocktail or a tea in the evening. Overall, an excellent value - felt like a luxury experience at the cost of an average hotel.

I've stayed at many hotels in my life, and this was the best one. Ever. I was impressed by the room. I did go for a more fancy one, but still. The only downside was that the balcony didn't look like it did in the room pictures. But I still loved this so very much. Can only recommend. If I go back to Innsbruck, I would love to stay there again.

Everything about this hotel was top notch. The bartenders were highly skilled and friendly. The breakfast spread was nice. The room service and front desk were friendly. The location is just far enough away from the downtown area so you feel like you are experiencing the city every time you leave your room. My only gripe was the front desk lacked knowledge of some local events such as the Christmas Markets. The markets were operating through new year and the front desk told me the markets were closed already on the 28th of Dec. In the end it was not a big deal since i found the markets but it just seems like something the front desk should be aware of in the Christmas/New Year Holiday season.

It is in a 500 year old building, filled with nooks & crannies. Much of the decor in the lobby areas & hallways was very dated & really not attractive, often strange. Our room had been completely modernized & the bathroom updated. Trouble was it was very dark, quite small, the air conditioning ran at only one temperature, cold, (We were always cold), & our little terrace, while having a small view of the mountains, also overlooked some crumbling structures & the towels stayed damp all day. The hotel staff were very nice & were consistently helpful.

First of all this is a hotel with thieves. Our money was locked in a safe box (about 700 euros) and it was stolen within a day. My friend who was traveling with me, who lived in another room, also had money stolen. And we are sure it was stolen in this hotel. Because we confirmed the cash situation before leaving the room. And we later asked the hotel staff to provide a video of the corridor, but they did not provide it, and emphasized that the only employee who had the key to the safe box had gone on vacation for 2 weeks. (This reason is very outrageous). We came here with good expectations of Austria and were let down by this hotel. We called the hotel for an answer and the hotel didn't give us a reasonable explanation and the hotel staff said why we didn't find out it was stolen until after we left. We traveled all the way from France and Italy to Austria and didn't expect money to be stolen here, this hotel is a disgrace to Austria. Beware of thieves!

Absolutely beautiful and cozy hotel in a perfect location in Innsbruck. Just a five minutes walk from the old city centre. Public transport right outside the hotel! I loved all the attention to the smallest details, the spacious and clean rooms. The lady at the reception was very helpful and professional, we will visit again in the future :) Thank you
